A domain - that was what I required for my future site. I had it all planned out in my head. I got a web design and web content strategy, I was aware that I required a Linux-based hosting service and that I had to register a domain name.

My biggest dilemma was what domain name to select for my web site. It had to be easy-to-remember, attractive, and, well, available for registration! I examined quite a few till I discovered one that was available for registration, but then I saw the shocking price, as I had picked a .co.uk domain. These country-specific domain names are apparently more expensive than the widespread .com, .net, .org, etc. TLDs. With my minimal budget, I simply gave up that idea and began contemplating finding a new website hosting distributor. I disclosed my plan to almost everyone I knew who had a clue about web sites and the World Wide Web in general, so a comrade of mine showed me the site Lonex.com and exclaimed: "Voilà! Modestly priced hosting packages! And a free domain name registration!"

These chaps from LONEX.COM offer moderate web hosting packages - on shared web hosting servers, which does not appear to be a problem for small and medium-sized websites. Besides, they are based in the UK, and have web hosting servers in the UK. Well, not only - but also in the USA, Sweden and Australia, but what I was looking for was a UK-based solution anyway. The greatest perk, however, is that they give you a cost-free domain name if you sign up for 1 year instead of paying on a monthly basis! That does not apply to .co.uk domain names, unfortunately, because they are registered for a 2-year period by default, but .com, .net, .info, .eu and a few more domain names come for free, so how could I resist this free offer?

I did sign up and even acquired a software tool that could help me create my web site - its name is Site Studio. A website building tool with - I did attempt calculating but lost count! - over seventy design layouts excellent for both commercial and personal web portals. Now, isn't that fabulous? And the bonuses do not stop there! I am one lucky girl! Well, enough chatter from me, I should continue with the creation of my web site work of art!
